Den Carter is head of colleague communications and culture content and channels at British Airways. 80% of these use iPhone or Android devices to access the digital workplace.
Den doesn’t think that intranets are cool. He has merged three intranets into a Unily-powered mobile hub, and, although the pandemic has slowed progress, he’s working on a revolutionary user experience including simple apps, a network of chatbots and voice interfaces.
But before any of those projects can continue, he’s currently dealing the biggest crisis in aviation history. At the start of the pandemic BA’s digital workplace was transformed overnight, from a highly engaged social space into a crisis management tool. A year later, the crisis has become business-as-usual for BA, and their digital workplace strategy has been redefined beyond recognition.
