Workshop: The skills you need for your intranet and digital workplace: management and governance

Room: Executive

Creating, managing and improving an intranet or digital workplace requires a huge variety of skills that borrow from different disciplines.

Teams need skills to deliver effective user experience, communications, content, IT management and also then how do you deliver measurement and improvement or establish governance for your platform?

Because of the range of cross-disciplinary skills involved, it’s hard for individuals and teams to assess their own professional development, plan their career, and work out all the skills required to help deliver exceptional digital workplaces.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll take you through a skills matrix and competency framework especially designed for intranet and digital teams that you can use to assess where you are, where you want to be and help plan for projects, for you and your team.

We’ll take you through a self-assessment exercise for your skills where all participants can receive a summary report. We’ll also look at how you can use the skills framework to assess what you need to do around governance as the first step to a detailed governance matrix and plan.

Key takeaways:

– A framework to consider your skills and those of your team
– Thinking points and practical ways to use the Skills Matrix in many ways including career development, learning, team and project planning, annual performance reviews and more
– A guided self-assessment of your skills with summary report to be emailed to participants after the conference
– A pathway to use skills as a way to assess what needs to be done to improve your content, intranet or digital workplace governance
