Transforming the traditional (social) intranet into a valuable Employee Experience Portal
Joris is Product Owner of ING’s global intranet. Serving more than 70,000 staff in over 40 countries, the ‘One Intranet’ application is one of the most daily used tools within this financial institution. As Product Owner, Joris is part of a multidisciplinary squad of developers, OPS engineers and customer journey experts. Half of the team is based in Pune, India, the other half at ING’s headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The team’s ambition is to bring ING’s global intranet to the next level in 2020-2021, transforming the application from a traditional (social) intranet into a more mature and valuable ”Employee Experience Portal”. This will use the latest (cloud) technologies, microservices and insights to enhance the employee journey and facilitate an efficient workspace in the bank.
Before joining ING back in 2014, Joris worked for ABN AMRO Bank for 11 years. He then started to work as a freelance consultant and project manager, undertaking projects for TomTom, The Dutch Chamber of Commerce, Van Lanschot Bankiers, JustRed/Media and others. He has broad experience of the agile way of working and scrum teams in the domains of a digital workplace, intranet, online video and mobile apps.
