Shel Holtz is director of Internal Communications for Webcor, a commercial builder headquartered in San Francisco, California. Before joining Webcor, Shel spent 21 years as an independent consultant, helping organizations communicate more effectively, with a focus on online and digital technology. A regular speaker internationally, Shel has authored six communication-focused books, including “Tactical Transparency,” “Corporate Conversations,” “Blogging for Business,” and “Public Relations on the Net.” Shel is a prolific blogger and a pioneer podcaster, launching For Immediate Release — the first communication-themed podcast — in January 2005. Shel is a senior fellow of the Conference Board Marketing and Communication Center and a platinum fellow of The Mayo Clinic Social Media Network. He is also a Fellow of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and holds the Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) certification.
